Ultimate Zipline Adventures (11 mins)
One of the best ways to experience the forest in Hocking Hills is ziplining (hence why there are SO many options in the area). We are fortunate because Ultimate Zipline Adventures is one of the best and they’re super close to the Barton house. They have a ropes course, a kids course and a ziplining-only option.

Horseback Riding
Another great way to take in the beauty of the Hocking Hills region is on horseback. A few close options are Blue Moon Acres (21 mins), Equestrian Ridge Farm (21 mins), and the Spotted Horse Ranch (28 mins). One additional option that is a little further away but worth the drive is Uncle Buck’s Riding Stable and Dance Barn (44 mins). They serve food and drinks on premise at the Lad Buck Saloon and have regular live music programming too!

Rock Climbing & Rappelling
With plenty of rock formations and climbing locations, the Hocking Hills region is popular destination for rappelling and climbing. A couple of companies nearby that can assist with both climbing and rappelling are Adventure Treks (13 mins) and High Rock Adventures (24 mins).

Canoeing & Kayaking
There’s nothing better in the summer months than being on the water, whether it’s a wide river or a calm lake. Hocking Hills has plenty of options for renting watercraft and guided tours. With the right Hocking Hills Reservoir nearby (10 mins away) you can bring your own watercraft or rent one with a local company. A few close options are the Hocking Hills Canoe Livery (19 mins), Lake Logan Beach House (20 mins), and Hocking Hills Adventures (21 mins).

Biking/Trail Rides
With the right trail, mountain biking can be the most amazing way to navigate through the hills and really immerse yourself in nature. The Hocking Hills area has plenty of options for bike rentals and trails nearby, like Hocking Hills State Park Bike Trails (10 mins). We are also lucky to have the Bailey’s Trail System close by in the neighboring Wayne National Forest, which is completely worth the quick 34 minute drive. Fruit Farms & Pumpkin Patches
If you’re looking for a pleasant way to relax and still explore with your family, we recommend one of the many fruit farms and pumpkin patches in the area. Check out Laurelville Fruit Farms (21 mins) for rows of apples, peaches, cherries and plums or jump over to Paige’s Produce (40 mins) or Hugus Farms (40 mins) for similar options! If you’re looking for a pumpkin patch that’s relatively close, check out Walker Farm (21 mins) or Sharp Farms (26 mins).

Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls (6 mins)
Set in a peaceful woodland environment, the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls offers traditional massages, body treatments and facials. Located just down the road, 6 minutes away, it’s the perfect place to escape for an hour or two to relax and rejuvenate.

Located just past Ash Cave, the Ash Cave Day offers a wide range of massage therapies as well as specialty treatments like hot stones, sugar scrub, mud wraps and facials.

Hocking Hills Serenity Salt Caves (18 mins)
The Hocking Hills Serenity Salt Cave is a handcrafted Himalayan Salt Cave that offers 45 minute halotherapy sessions to help you relax and rejuvenate in a healthy, peaceful environment. Halotherapy is a form of alternative medicine that has been around for ages, using the inhalation of salt infused air. It is said to provide anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting, and anti-allergic properties.
